CONCERT
with Gregor Schwellenbach
Sun, 26 October, 8 p.m.

Concert in the rooms of the exhibition Sebastian Fritzsch: Schlaf. Portrait and Souvenirs.

Sleep requires a state of trust, calmness, and relaxation, intimacy with one's own thoughts, which begin to meander in the transition to dreams, repeatedly processing experiences and establishing connections. In this sense, multi-instrumentalist Gregor Schwellenbach fills the rooms of Sebastian Fritzsch's exhibition “Sleep” with meandering memories and chains of association, including a re-performance of his intervention “Gürzenichstraße” for bass drum and sampler, minimalist pieces for keyboard, and electronic recordings.

Gregor Schwellenbach most recently composed the soundtrack for Sebastian Fritzsch's feature film “Der Wald in mir” (The Forest Inside Me). He works as an arranger for musicians such as Can keyboardist Irmin Schmidt and rappers Souly, Xatar, and Alligatoah. He has made several guest appearances at the philharmonic halls in Hamburg, Berlin, and Cologne with his program “Six Pianos.” His tribute to the Kompakt label was awarded the VIA Indie Award for Best Experiment.
