GHOST TRAIN–INTERVENTION
with the Textilien Künstler*innentreff
Sa 7 February, 12:00—5:30 pm

We can't all sleep in the cathedral.
Appeal for a change in housing policy.

On Saturday, February 7, we invite you to an open work session at the Temporary Gallery starting at 12 noon. There, we will prepare together for our participation in the Ghost Train. Using the remaining materials from the costume workshop, we will build an artistic intervention—a portable object, a collective costume, a canopy house made of fabric remnants—the action will be organized by the Textile Artists' Meeting Cologne. Around 5:30 p.m., we will set off together to participate in the Ghost Train, which in 2026 will bear the title "We can't all sleep in the cathedral. Appeal for a change in housing policy.“ Our intervention will also address this important issue.

On Saturday, February 7, the Ghost Train will wind its way through the streets of Nippes, this time with an urgent appeal: ”Allerhühste Zick för en andere Wunnungspolitik – mer könne nit all em Dom schlofe!" As always, the Ghost Train will start punctually at 7:00 p.m., with participants gathering from 6:00 p.m. onwards on Josefine-Clouth-Str. from house numbers 15+17. Further information about the Ghost Train can be found here https://www.geisterzug.de/

The Ghost Train Cologne is an alternative carnival demonstration that has been taking place during the Cologne Carnival since 1991, usually on the Saturday before Weiberfastnacht. It originated as a protest against the Gulf War and has developed into a political and socially critical event.

We look forward to your participation! You can come to the Temporary Gallery from 12 noon and join us. Feel free to bring instruments with which we can make a lot of noise on the parade.
