KRÄTZCHEN—WORKSHOP
and talk with Cologne-based costume designer Liane Gramsch-Rudolph
Fri 16 January, 3:30—7:30 p.m.
Organized by the Rutfront Carnival Association
No registration required
To kick off the Temporary Gallery's costume workshop, the Rutfront Fastelovendsbund invites you to a Krätzchen workshop on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. With an exclusive special guest: Liane Gramsch-Rudolph.
She is an “original in carnival” (KSTA), also known in Cologne as the “carnival seamstress” (WDR), and for some even the “Coco Chanel of carnival princes” (Das goldene Blatt). Liane Gramsch-Rudolph sews our Krätzchen for the Rutfront Fastelovendsbund (and if she has time, she also sews the uniforms for the Roten Funken). But she will surely tell you all about this herself on the day, because there will be a short talk with her before the workshop so that you can get to know and love her even better.
Krätzchen (or Krätzje) are the caps worn by the front comrades. They are often also called Schiffchen or simply fool's caps. In this workshop, Liane Gramsch-Rudolph will show you how to sew your own Krätzchen from fabric remnants.
Participation is free of charge. No prior knowledge is required. Sewing machines and fabric remnants are available on site.
Kütt ens eröm, on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., to the Temporary Gallery for the Rutfront costume workshop with Liane Gramsch-Rudolph!
